Main Purpose 

Reporting to the Manager, Clean Energy Marketing, the successful candidate will assist the Clean Energy Marketing team with scheduling, analysis, trading & settlement to maintain and grow business profitability. The Marketing Scheduler will be expected to engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including Operations, Finance and Accounting, as well as industry counterparties and formal industry groups. This position is critical to executing the strategic plan and will become a key member of the Clean Energy Marketing team.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in scheduling, economics and logistics
  • Understanding of pipelines and truck terminals throughout Western Canada
  • Sound understanding of pipeline operations, terminology and understanding of relevant product specifications
  • Knowledge of pricing, transportation, and equalization
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Efficient problem solver with strong interpersonal skills and high standards of professionalism who demonstrates resilience under pressure
  • Ability to provide meaningful information and evaluations to management in order to make timely decisions
  • Solid communication skills for both internal / external contacts

  • Execute daily operational scheduling activities, able to ensure satisfactory commercial operation of terminals & pipelines under minimal supervision
  • Ensure that in-house inventory and scheduling system is updated regularly and reflects the latest information available
  • Schedule movements via pipeline distribution channels through use of third-party scheduling systems
  • Confirm accurate inventory positions each month for all volumes 
  • Maintain routine communication with producers, marketers and pipelines
  • Support trading to balance pipeline positions
  • Research and identify information relating to potential supply opportunities 
  • Monitor volumes to manage Form A forecasts vs actual receipts
  • Assist with development of month end accruals and support the month end settlement process
  • Create and maintain monthly volume and pricing summaries
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures


  • Completion of a post-secondary degree, preferably Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Economics, or equivalent
  • Minimum two to four (2-4) years related experience, preferably in pricing, scheduling or analytics 
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication – ability to accurately incorporate both financial and operational information clearly

  • Adept problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, with advance working knowledge of Excel
